There have been rumour going round that top Nigerian music star, 2Face Idibia is dead.

The rumour, which first started last year, cropped up again this morning when a website posted that the Idoma-born music icon was dead.

Though at the base of the website, the writer of the news indicated that it was just another hoax, many visitors of the site were unaware of this.

In a chat with Nigeriafilms.com, Bayo Omisore, who is the publicist of 2Face debunked the death rumour.

In his words, "2Face Idibia is not dead. He is alive and recording in Los Angeles. The website that published the report debunked it on the same page."

At the bottom of the page of the website that published the fake story, it had the following in fine print:

FAKE... THIS STORY IS 100% FAKE! this is an entertainment website, and this is a totally fake article based on zero truth and is a complete work of fiction for entertainment purposes!

This story was dynamically generated using a generic 'template' and is not factual.

Any reference to specific individuals has been 100% fabricated by web site visitors who have created fake stories by entering a name into a blank 'non-specific' template for the purpose of entertainment.

You will recall that just last week Tuesday, 2Face proposed to his long time girlfriend, Annie Macaulay.
